Only if US or Canada are asked…

The United States, after Canada, has doubled down on the Modi government for plotting murders of its citizen of Indian origin.

It’s a moot point if India did or didn’t — what’s relevant is if “rogue” states like the United States or Canada have the gall to accuse India of extra-judicial killings.

I mean the CIA plotted for 50 years to kill Fidel Castro and the attempts were so many that the US had to confess its role. The Cuban leader’s words still ring in the ear: “If surviving assassinations were an Olympic event, I would win the gold medal.”

That Saddam Hussein’s residence was bombed in 2003 was admitted by the US Air Force chief of staff Michael Dugan himself; In Operation El Dorado Canyon, Muammar Gaddafi’s residence was bombed in 1986; Slobodan Milosevic of Yugoslavia survived an attempt in 1999; not so lucky were Congo’s Patrice Lubumba, Chile’s Salvador Allende, Dominica’s Rafael Trujillo, Or Neo Din Diem of South Vietnam who all were assassinated.

The CIA and British Intelligence overthrew Iranian prime minister Mohammad Mossadegh who had dared to nationalize the oil industry. It hurt the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company which we now know as the British Petroleum (BP). The coup was led by an agent named Kermit Roosevelt, the grandson of president Theodore Roosevelt no less!

Madeleine Albright, then Secretary of State, admitted to New York Times in March 2000: “The coup was clearly a setback for Iran’s political development. And it’s easy to see now why many Iranians continue to resent this intervention by America in their internal affairs.”

So if these attempts are irrefutable, we can’t really be doubting the North Koreans who said the CIA made an assassination attempt on its leader Kim Jong-un. These are modern times so methods used were biochemical and radioactive substance the results of which appear only after 6–12 months.

Things are so sleek now that WikiLeaks disclosed that the CIA in 2014 were looking to hack into car-control systems: It potentially could allow an agent to stage a car crash!

And what do we make of killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan — a terrorist in the eyes of the United States as Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is a designated terrorist of the Indian State.

Canada, likewise has blatantly hosted terrorists for decades to destabilize not just India but other South Asian states. Sri Lanka backed India recently claiming its terrorists have found safe haven in Canada. Bangladesh did likewise, its foreign minister being brutally blunt in claiming Canada has become a hub for murderers.

So a US could look for state enemies and eliminate them wherever they are as does Israel’s Mossad regularly. Sanctuary to a Pannun or a Nijjar is given on the pretext of “human rights” instead of turning these terrorists in to the States who suffer through their hands. What does one make of Pannun’s threat to bomb Air India planes, much like the 1985 blowing up of Air India 182 by Khalistani terrorists based in Vancouver that killed 329 people, the deadliest aviation disaster before 9/11?

This is nothing but an attempt to destabilize nations in South Asia around arch-enemy China; and to keep India “honest”, so to say. In the words of geopolitical expert Andrew Korybko: “Canada and US are allowing them (terrorists) to wage a Hybrid War on India.”

India’s charismatic foreign minister Dr S. Jaishankar was blunt as only he could be: “That India believes Canada has a permissive attitude towards terrorists…Just think about it: We have had smoke bombs thrown at the mission, we have had our consulates…violence in front of them. There are posters put up about people…Do you consider this normal?…If this happened to any other country, how would they react to it?”

Smokescreen

Some highbrow expert would tell you the United States, after the scale of such CIA operations were exposed by the US Senate in the 1970s, passed an executive order, stating “No employee of the United States government shall engage in, or conspire in, political assassinations.”

How did the US work around it? By simply changing the terminology from assassination to targeted killings in self-defense which is permitted under international law and the power of the president as commander-in-chief!

Not to forget the United Kingdom which has given us the cinematic pleasure of James Bond taking out enemies with his “licence to kill.” MI6, officially, has a policy that its “officers don’t kill anyone” unless their actions are authorised in writing by a secretary of state (Section 7 of the 1994 Intelligence Services Act).

The truth is States do take out its enemies. India knows that Canada and the US — and the “Five Eyes” — are trying to bully it. The last hasn’t been heard from them — nor I suspect it is from Modi’s India!

(POST-SCRIPT:

Meanwhile reserve a scorn for the mainstream media which is treating US-India exchanges as one between a headmaster and a student. They are treating West’s words as gospel and can’t dare to bite the hand which feeds. Doubt it? Then go by the dictum: “You know who are your rulers by the ones you are not allowed to criticize.” I can offer the names of United States, Pakistan, Zelensky, Sonia Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee etc who would never be criticized. NOT ONCE! Hope it’ serves as an eye-opener.)
